Erde
Unattainable divine inspiration
Lurks at the bottom of this sandy pit.
From the firmament I find myself reaching,
Straining to grasp at the miniscule grains.
This earthen scent tantalizes me-
Spurs me on higher and further away,
The fire inside of me stoked and burning hot.
Hardened cold and wind-cracked lips,
Hold dreams inside of meeting this front of marble;
Icy and barren to the touch.
I know what lies inside-
A beautiful woman sits trapped in painful memories,
Relishing the solitude,
The masochistic desires of ages.
I wish to wravel this one up,
Take her into comforting arms;
Yet the earth is unyielding.
Nevertheless
I will continue to howl and scrape,
Weather and assault this prison,
Until she is free-
Mine
To carry away,
With the sweetest promise of Heaven.
